The development of smaller, community-based short-term family housing programs is a key strategy of Homeward DC to make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring. As a result of the Homeward DC plan, the District has reduced overall homelessness by more than 17 percent in two years & has reduced family homelessness by 40 percent over the same time.
The Horizon is designed to meet USGBC LEED Gold & includes onsite stormwater quality control limiting offsite runoff, a green roof, energy efficient windows, and a high-efficiency HVAC system. This 34,700 SF facility provides short-term support to 35 families.
Omega II Fence Systems supplied the Omega MAX fencing & access gates for exterior perimeter of this project. The Omega MAX provides a high security fencing solution that offers full visibility, anti-climb & anti-cut. Ideal for pool areas, outdoor playgrounds and recreational spaces.
