Project Highlights
Project: Venice Island Performing Arts Center
Contributing Manufacturer: Diamond Manufacturing
Materials: .125" thick aluminum with .500" round holes @ .688" staggered centers. The open area is 48%.
Completed at the end of 2014, the Venice Island project was just named “Environmental Project of the Year” by the Construction Management Association of America’s Mid-Atlantic chapter. Central to the site design is the 250 seat performing art center, elevated seven feet above the floodway that covers much of the Island.
The Performing Arts Center contains numerous sustainable design features, including a green roof. Diamond Manufacturing contributed to the project, providing the perforated metal shading.
Perforated metal dissipates heat, enhances air flow, while at the same time offering visual enhancement and decorative qualities to the overall concept. As a green material, it minimizes resource depletion due to its recyclability, therefore minimizing the impact on the environment.
At John Rocco Sales, we provide solutions that are environmentally friendly. We represent a large selection of options and materials for a variety of applications and designs. If you are interested in learning more about green solutions for your next project, please contact us.
